How to write a reviewable high-purity aluminium specification
A useful specification describes more than a purity grade. It connects technical limits, product form, total quantity, test logic, documents, and delivery scope in one unambiguous inquiry.
Technical editorial: HUABO Advanced Aluminium ยท Updated

Describe ingot, unit weight, tolerances, and surface.
Set acceptance criteria and report scope before ordering.
State total demand, timing, packaging, and destination.
01
Begin with application and project stage
State the technical purpose and whether the project is research, prototype, supplier qualification, pilot demand, or recurring production. This helps place the test scope and delivery framework in context.
Avoid confidential detail that is not required for technical review. The supplier needs the requirements that must be mapped to material, form, testing, and documents.
02
Express chemistry as minimums and maximums
Define minimum aluminium content or target grade and list every critical element with its maximum, unit, and reporting limit where required. An N-grade alone leaves these individual limits open.
Separate mandatory acceptance criteria from target values. State how deviations are handled and whether a project target such as up to 99.995% for 4N5 is being submitted for feasibility review only.
03
Separate form, unit weight, and total quantity
The HUABO standard basis is individual 8โ20 kg ingots to YS/T665-2018. This range is not a minimum order quantity and does not replace total quantity or piece count.
Add required form, dimensions, tolerances, surface, piece count, total quantity, and packaging. Custom forms and deviations are confirmed only after review.
04
Complete testing, documents, and delivery scope
Define CoA content, batch reference, units, test method, reporting limits, language, and output format. Also state marking, packaging, destination, requested window, and delivery term.
Price, MOQ, availability, lead time, form, packaging, and document scope are confirmed after review of the complete RFQ. The quotation then uses the same technical basis as later acceptance.

Short answers for procurement and engineering
Which details are essential for an initial technical review?
Grade or target chemistry, critical element limits, form, total quantity, application, documents, destination, and requested date.
Is the 8โ20 kg range an MOQ?
No. It is the weight of an individual standard ingot; MOQ and total quantity are confirmed by project.
When are price and lead time confirmed?
After review of the complete specification, required quantity, document scope, and current availability.
