State quantities clearly

Separate ingot weight, piece count, total quantity, and MOQ

Sourcing inquiries become unnecessarily ambiguous when the weight of one ingot is mistaken for the minimum order quantity. Four separate fields create a reviewable quotation basis.

01

Individual ingot weight describes the product unit

HUABO publishes 8–20 kg as the weight of an individual standard ingot to YS/T665-2018. It describes the regular product basis, not a universally applicable minimum order quantity.

If the project needs a narrower weight range, defined dimensions, or another form, state those separately in the RFQ for feasibility review.

02

Align piece count and total quantity

State both the requested piece count and total quantity. If they do not divide cleanly into one unit weight, clarify the acceptable range or priority before quotation.

Production and packaging review also benefits from knowing whether identical units, a permitted weight range, or a defined quantity split is required.

03

Separate trial, initial, and follow-on demand

A small trial quantity usually belongs to a different project stage from possible later series or annual demand. State both separately without presenting forecast demand as a firm order.

This lets the supplier assess the current inquiry while understanding the qualification or scale-up path if the trial succeeds. Research, pilot, and small project quantities are reviewed by project.

04

Confirm MOQ, availability, and timing after specification review

A reviewable MOQ depends on more than weight. Grade, critical chemistry, form, dimensions, testing, packaging, total quantity, and current production planning all affect the assessment.

HUABO therefore publishes no universal MOQ or lead time. Price, MOQ, availability, and timing are confirmed after review of the complete RFQ.

FAQ

Short answers for procurement and engineering

Does 8–20 kg mean that at least 8 kg must be ordered?

No. The range describes the weight of one standard ingot, not the minimum order quantity.

Which quantity fields belong in an RFQ?

Required unit weight or range, piece count, firm total quantity, and expected follow-on demand stated separately.

Why does HUABO not publish a universal MOQ?

MOQ and availability depend on grade, form, dimensions, total quantity, testing, packaging, and current planning.
